I followed a pattern.
Well, 90% of the pattern.
And it turned out so well that I'm going to do the pattern AGAIN. And again and again and again.
Dana, over at Made, has a GREAT tutorial on how to make a girl's dress out of a man's shirt. And while going through our Goodwill pile, I snatched a couple of The G's old ones and decided to upcycle.
With very similar construction to the Halloween dresses, Mae Cake is calling it her "Halloween dress" (or could it be that the only dresses I've sewn for them have been the Halloween ones?… Yes, it's that one). It took maybe an hour or two AND I EVEN PRESSED SEAMS.
Stop it.
I know.
But I won't.
Here's the pics:
The accent fabric was leftover from my bored boards projects and it made the dress rock. Can you see where I took the pocket off? The answer is "yes".
I ALSO upcycled V's FAVORITE SHIRT IN THE WORLD, which was of course princess-themed. It was getting rather short and as cute as I think her little belly is, midriffs on toddlers are WRONG (take that, Honey Boo Boo).
I came across some tulle at the thirft store the other day, so I decided to add a couple layers of skirt to her tank top.
SCORE!
MOTHER OF THE FRICKING YEAR!

One year ago: I Love Spring. Duh. Who doesn't.
