Riot and Frolic

a mostly ballroom dance, but also a bunch of other stuff, blog

Don't you hate that question?

Tis nobler and all that.

Now that I'm officially a Mother of Three/Ballroom Dancer/Teacher/Wife/Domestic Goddess, I've been trying to figure out exactly what I will or will not be within those roles.  I got out pen and paper and everything.

SambaMatchGoal

Yes, my people, it's time to share with you my goals.  I figure if I put a few choice targets out there (on the interwebs), somebody might ask me about them and I'll have to fess up to my doing or undoing them.  These are the ones I'm not embarrassed to share:

– Family fun time for one hour a day.  There are about three waking hours when all of us are in the house at the same time and they're all in the morning.  Grocery shopping can't count.  Neither can washing dishes or eating breakfast.  So… Wish me luck.

– 100 pageviews per day on ye olde blog.  So tell you friends!

– close the Etsy store.  I was a bit surprised by this one, but I realized I hated the idea of sending out my crafties to an anonymous person AND making lots of one thing.  Turns out I just like making stuff to make it.  Expect nifty homemade gifties soon, loved ones.

– run the TC Marathon. It's true! I was also surprised by this one.  I hate running.  But it gets the job done.  And I would love to say I ran a marathon, because it'll sound so ridiculous coming out of my mouth.

– eat 5 fruits and veggies a day.  This takes planning, followers.  It takes buying actual fruits and vegetables.  And eating fruits and vegetables.  Before they go bad in my refrigerator.  Gah.

– read an interesting book a month.  Thank God I'm in a book club, right?

– spend conscientiously.  Target.  You are my downfall.  Fast food drive-thru.  Why are you so convenient?  Victoria's Secret catalog.  Stop tempting me, you wench.

I'd also like to find a great babysitter that I'm not friends with (so I can go out with my crew AND not leave anyone out), kick everyone's butt in every ballroom dance competition I enter, get some paid advertisers for ye olde blog, make my students kick everyone's butt in every ballroom dance competition they enter, and have a date night once a week.

Not that I ask for much.

You’re definitely on the right track. I think most of these goals are attainable. It’s like having a bucket list -which I have. However, I just removed sky diving from said list.
