For me, Kate, it’s September Song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H94hz9Q56jw as only Willie sings it. You may have to be much older to really appreciate it. But I LOVE Mary Ann too! Sometimes it’s good to feel a little poignancy, but this is quite a pile you have assembled. I hope you are OK!

That is the first time I’ve heard “Say Something” without the harmonies by Christina Aguilera.
How can it be that I’ve heard “The Only Exception” a bajillion times, and never knew it was Paramore? I think because viennese waltz.
My list includes: By Nickel Creek, “The Lighthouse’s Tale,” “Out of the Woods,” and others. A couple Irish classics – Carrickfergus (there are a number of great versions – Loreena McKennitt w/ Cedric Smith have a great one though) and The Water is Wide (shares some similarities to Carrickfergus. Must listen to Eva Cassidy’s rendition), and Michael Buble – You Were Always On My Mind because Ballroom Dancer. All the above can be found on the YouTubes.

I’m not wallowing about anything, but our Pandora station (based on Disney princess songs) is bringing up a lot of the Narnia music lately and so “The Call” has come up. I’ve been struck by how that song still gets to me, and so I started going through my music to see what other songs would do it. Turns out there’s a formidable pile of them. I haven’t added more to this post, because DEPRESSING, but interesting, nonetheless, right?
